In our house, tiny dishes like this are placed in the kitchen, filled with flakey salt, just at hand for when you're cooking or seasoning a dish. I've also been known to keep one near the sink to hold my rings while I wash vegetables. Made in Denmark in the now defunct Holmegaard factory.
